Clarence R. Gilbert, 83

Wynantskill - Clarence R. Gilbert, 83, of Edwards Road died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Cohoes, he was son of the late Jacob Jack Gilbert and Adeline Baxter Gilbert and husband of the late Elizabeth Oliver Gilbert. He was raised and educated in Cohoes, he had resided in Troy and in Wynantskill for the past 36 years.

Mr. Gilbert was a maintenance worker at LaSalle Institute in Troy retiring 10 years ago and several years ago at Firestone in Colonie. He was an Army veteran of World War II stationed in Sapporo, Japan.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence 'C.R.' (Mary Beth) Gilbert, Henrietta, NY and Laurence (Justine) Gilbert, Rochester; a daughter, Karen Beaulac, Cohoes; a sister-in-law, Mary Gilbert, Troy; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Jacob Gilbert.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 12 noon - 2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM with Rev. John McAuley, officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.
