Brunswick - Clarabelle M. Bergin, 88, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Brooklyn, she was daughter of the late Winfred Austin and Ethel Rathjen Austin and wife of the late John T. Bergin. She had resided in Brooklyn for 40 years, coming to Brunswick in 1967 and was a graduate of Brooklyn schools.
Mrs. Bergin was employed as a secretary in the guidance office of Tamarac High School for 21 years, retiring in June of 1992.
She was a communicant of Resurrection Parish in Brooklyn and Our Lady of Victory Church and a Brownie Troop leader in Brooklyn. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Dorothy (Mark) Brock, Melrose, Thomas M. Bergin, Latham and Jeanmarie (Phillip) Morelli, Troy; her grandchildren, Jessica Spence, Simeon Brock, Amanda Bergin and Trevor and Tabitha Morelli and her great grandchildren, Cadence Spence and Cameron Brock. She was predeceased by a sister, Winifred Strock and a daughter-in-law, Jo-Anne Bergin.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.
Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Niskayuna.
