Charles A. Hough

February 10, 1924 ~ August 12, 2014 (age 90) 90 Years Old

West Sand Lake - Charles A. Hough, a native of Union Falls, New York died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his home with his wife of 66 years Nora by his side in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born Feb.10,1924, son of the late Charles H. and Grace (Ryan) Hough. 

Charles is survived by his wife Nora and eight children, Jack (Betsy) Hough, Gail (Bill) Sansone, Dianne (Bruce) Osterhout, Dennis Hough, Jeffrey Hough, Tammey (Keith) Sansone, Charles M. (Christine) Hough and Eric Hough. Charles children have blessed him with 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Alice Facteau of Nashua, NH and several nieces and nephews; brother in law and sister in law.

Charles was a World War II Army veteran. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a life time member of the American Legion, Post # 1489 in Wynantskill and Past Commander of the Lt. Perry Williams VFW post #3025.

Charles built his home in West Sand Lake in 1952 before moving to Florida in 2001. He was a member of the West Sand Lake Fire Company; drove school bus for the Averill Park School District and was a Communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park, NY. He retired from the D&H Railroad. 

Friends and Family may call Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4-7pm at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Route 66, Averill Park, N.Y.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church Monday at 10AM with final resting at Gerald BH Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Charles A. Hough to the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave, Albany, NY 12208 or HPH Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd. . Hudson, Fl 34667.
