Cedric R. 'Ted' Desso, 76

Colonie- Cedric R. 'Ted' Desso, 76,of Colonie and formerly of Eagle Mills, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at his residence in the Towers of Colonie Apartments. Ted passed on peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones after a long illness.

Born in Essex, VT, he was the son of the late James Desso and Rosalie (Butler) Desso and husband of Laura Decker Masotti. He and his wife were just married in a blessed union this past Saturday at St. Jude's Church by the Rev. Salvatore Rodino.

Ted had resided in Eagle Mills for many years, spending the past 3 years in Colonie,. He was a graduate of New York School of Photography in Brooklyn.

He had a lifelong passion for photography which he shared freely with his family and friends. He owned and operated The Troy Photo Service at 219 Fourth Street Troy for 45 years, retiring in 1998.

Ted was a lifetime, avid bowler. He served as President of the Troy Pro Scoring League and Tuesday Night Men's Classic at Troy Bowl for many years. He was also a member of Toastmasters, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a former President of the Kiwanis Club of Troy and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Always active in community activities, he served as a volunteer coach at the Spring and Brunswick Little Leagues and as Commissioner for the Lansingburgh and Brunswick Pop Warner Football programs. Ted was an enthusiastic sports fan who found great pride in his grandchildren's athletic achievements. He was a devoted grandfather who could always be counted on to be in attendance at his grandchildren's sporting events . He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II stationed in Guam and Hawaii.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Louis J. Desso (Debra) of Wynantskill, James F. Desso (Cynthia) of Niskayuna and James Masotti (Paula) of Pottstown, PA; a brother and a sister-in-law and a sister and five grandchildren, Jonathan and Jamie Desso, James and Jonathan Masotti and Evan Desso. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Everett Desso.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Brookside Avenue Wynantskill by Rev. Salvatore Rodino, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Ted Desso to St. Jude the Apostle Church Brookside Avenue Wynantskill, NY 12198.
