Catherine 'Kay' (Shunk) Tanski

Troy -  Catherine (Kay) Tanski, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 22, 2017 at Eddy Memorial, Troy.

She was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY, but lived most of her life in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carmel Shunk, her daughter, Barbara Tanski, and her siblings, Gerard (Barbara) Shunk and Rose Marie Shunk.

Catherine is survived by Walter F., her devoted husband of 68 years, her brother Joseph (Helen) Shunk and her children, Susan (John) Roberts of Akron, Ohio, Lois (Paul) Bachman of Latham, and Karen (Joseph) Crudo of Watervliet.

Catherine was a homemaker, devoted mother and a loving proud grandmother. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allison (Brendan) Grealis, Julie Roberts, Jonathan (Julieta) Roberts, Elizabeth (Matthew) Bogdanowicz, Paul Bachman, Holly (Zachary) Gleason, and Ellie Crudo (Lauren Monteith), and her seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Amelia, John, Jacob, Raphael, Bennett and Everett.

A very special thank you to Gloria Kieber, who cared for her so lovingly. Also, thank you to all the staff at Eddy Memorial in Troy, who were so wonderful to Catherine while she was there.

A private memorial service has already taken place.
