Antonio 'Tony' D'Agostino, 87

Troy - Antonio 'Tony' D'Agostino, 87, of Fourteenth Street Troy, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Roccasicura, Italy, he was the son of the late Mariano D'Agostino and Angela (Lombardi) D'Agostino and husband of Giovannina Lombardi D'Agostino for 58 years.

He came to the United States to Troy in 1970 and was educated in Italy.

Mr. D'Agostino was employed in the maintenance department of St. Mary's Hospital in Troy for several years, retiring in 1979 and previously worked at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Troy and Altech Specialty Steel in Watervliet.

He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Troy. He loved his family and the outdoors, hunting and gardening as well as loving instrumental music and playing the clarinet.

A loving husband and father, survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Angelina (Sal) Anastasio of Albany, Paul D'Agostino of Troy and Maria Fiset of Loudonville; his grandchildren, Giovanna D'Agostino, Brian Fiset Jr., Johnanthony Fiset, Ben (Debbie) Anastasio, Anna (Chris) Raby and Marco Anastasio; his great grandchildren, Giovanni and Bianca Anastasio and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mario D'Agostino and his sister, Maria Lucia Funaro.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 10:30 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Troy where a Mass of CHristian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William A. Gorman, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 PM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in Troy.

The children wish to thank their mother for the loving care of their dad. Because of her, he was able to stay in his own home as he wished. A special thank you to Dr. Kevin Costello and The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for their wonderful care and support.
