Alfred Frederick Dobert, 82

Sand Lake Alfred Frederick Dobert, 82, of Sand Lake passed away on Friday morning January 13th unexpectedly. He was born in Troy on March 23, 1923. He was the eldest son of the late Frederick C. Dobert and the late Ruth Wagner Dobert. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Dobert, his two sons, Daniel Peter Dobert and David Warren Dobert and his grandson, David William Dobert. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth W. Dobert, Warren H. Dobert, Betty (Dobert) Killcullen, Doris (Dobert) Horrocks, Donald C. Dobert, Frederick W. Dobert and Wesley Dobert.

Mr. Dobert was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1942. He was drafted into the US Navy in 1943 served his country loyally, earning several bronze stars. Upon his discharge, he returned to Troy where he entered RPI and graduated with a degree in architecture in 1951. He went on to run his own successful construction company which completed many projects within the Capitol Region.

Mr. Dobert semi-retired in 1994 and worked quietly helping others. He was a skilled woodworker, loved the outdoors and was an avid reader.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Sand Lake Town Library 8428 Miller Hill Road Averill Park, NY 12018.
