Alf W. Miller, 89

Troy - Alf W. Miller, 89,of Taft Avenue, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Watervliet, he was the son of the late Herman and Bertha (Anderson) Miller and husband of the late Ethel M. Philipson Miller.

He had resided in Troy most of his life and was a 1937 graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Miller was a Supervisor for Design Services at the Watervliet Arsenal for 23 years.

He was a member of Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club, the Early Engine Club and a former member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Troy.

Survivors include his three sons, Philip J. (Stephanie) Miller of Troy, Alan K. (Linda Szot) Miller of Glenville and Andrew P. (Patricia Gilmaier) Miller of Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott , Alexander, Cody, Gregory and Victoria Miller and two great grandchildren, Ella and Nora Miller. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy E. and Earl A. Miller.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. John McAuley, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon to 2pm prior to the service. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
