Albert H. Goerold

Troy - Albert H. Goerold, 94, of Troy, NY, died peacefully on April 18th, 2018. Born on June 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Louis W. and Grace M. (Hack) Goerold and is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Ruth (Reinhardt) Goerold. 

Al retired after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Troy. He was a lifetime member of both the Troy Lodge of Elks and the former Germania Hall Association. Along with his enjoyment of fishing, crossword puzzles, and summers at Burden Lake, he loved all of the family dogs. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Nancy Goerold, Susan (Robert) Draiss, Janice Hayward, Diane (Edward) O’Connor, David (Carol) Goerold, and Marcia (Robert) DiBella. He was the grandfather to Robert R. Draiss, Jennifer (Greg) Salamone, Mark Hayward Jr. (Kristine), Stephanie (Michael) Norcia, Michael O’Connor, Matthew O’Connor, Jessica Goerold, David C. (Kate) Goerold, Lisa (Tom) Dennison and John DiBella, and great grandfather to Dominick and Madelynn Salamone and Layla Norcia. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Goerold. 

Al enjoyed his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 9-11am with a service at 11am with Rev. James A. Hilihan, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Lutheran Church (50 Leversee Rd, Troy NY, 12182) or the Burden Lake Association Water Quality Fund (P.O. Box 330, Averill Park NY, 12018) or to the charity of your choice.
