Agostina 'Auggie' Frances (Schillaci) Maroli

Troy - Agostina ‘Auggie’ Frances Schillaci Maroli, 90, of Skyline Drive died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Vincent Schillaci and Frances LaRocca Schillaci and wife of the late Alfred J.  Maroli. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Troy public schools, Troy High School, the College of St. Rose and earned her Master's degree in Education and Teaching from the State University of New York at Albany. 

Auggie was a teacher at Stamford Central School in Stamford, NY from 1947-51 and a business management and typing teacher at Troy High School from 1951-68.

Auggie was involved in Pastoral Care at Samaritan Hospital for 12 years. She taught religious education locally and was a reader and Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony of Padua. She was a long standing member of the Maranatha prayer group in Latham and devoted her days to prayer and fulfilling prayer requests from people everywhere.

Survivors include a son, Alfred V. (Julie) Maroli, Troy; a daughter, Dolores  (Briggs) Montero, Troy, four grandchildren, Christine and Michael Maroli and Madeline and Christian Montero and a great granddaughter, Olivia Rose Plitnick. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5-8 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mario Julian Rev. Mario Julian, Pastor.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

Special thanks to all of the family, friends and caregivers whose help over the last 9 years allowed Auggie to remain at home with her daughter and family. A special thank you to her Angel, Serina, who spent her days with Auggie to make sure her every desire was fulfilled.
