Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gerard Whitney and Fannie (Morrison) Whitney. and wife of the late Kenneth Warren Riddell, former Captain of the Troy Fire Department.
She had resided in the Troy area many years and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and attended nursing school in Albany.
Mrs. Riddell was a homemaker.
She was active in Troy Democratic politics and a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Troy.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolores J. (John) Robb of Troy; several grandchildren, John Marshall Robb, Cindy Robb, Kenneth Warren and Kara Linda Robb. She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Steven Robb and a sister, Grace Whitney and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor of Third Presbyterian Church in Troy, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment Fair View Cemetery, in Amsterdam, NY
