Mary F. (Lonz) Bechand

Mary F. Lonz Bechand, 93, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long  illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Patrick Lonz and Mary Marzinsky Lonz and wife of the late William Bechand. She had resided in the Troy and North Greenbush areas all her life and on Winter Street Extension for many years. Mary attended Troy Public School 10 and Troy High School. 

Mary was a seamstress for Tiny Town Togs in Troy for over 20 years.  

She was a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church in South Troy and several bowling leagues in Cohoes.    

Survivors include  2 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, Patrick Thomas (Lisa) Sunkes, Thomas D. (Angie) Sunkes, Daniel R. (Barbara) Sunkes, Marlene T. (William) Mokey, and Dean D. (Tracey) Sunkes.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Teresa P. Sunkes and Delores Fairbanks and a step daughter, Donna Jarvis.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. 

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
