William Wayne Wells, 90

Castleton - William Wayne Wells, 90, of South Lake Avenue, Troy, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Resurrection Nursing Home, Castleton.

Mr. Wells was born in 1920 in Petersburgh, NY, the seventh of eight children of Clarence and Stella Wells. A 1939 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, he married Elizabeth Babcock in 1943 and was employed by General Electric Company in Schenectady as a milling machine operator. Moving to Troy in 1950, Mr. Wells was a carpenter for many years, becoming a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Glenn Wells of Waterford and his wife, Susan Milstrey Wells; a sister, Mary Cipperly of Hoosick Falls, NY and two grandchildren, Victoria Lass of New Orleans, LA and Raymond Milstrey of Clifton Park. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wells's daughter, Lorraine Wells Lass, preceded him in death in 2001.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 4PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. David Martin , Pastor of Hope United Methodist Church , officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4PM prior to the service.

Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery Petersburgh.
