William Francis O'Brien, 62

Troy - William Francis O'Brien, 62,of Sheridan Avenue, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John O'Brien and Ethel (Turner) O'Brien and husband of Lynn Marie Wessels O'Brien.

He had resided in Troy all his life and attended Troy High School.

Mr. O'Brien was an auto insurance adjuster for Hudson Valley Auto Appraisers in Schenectady for 15 years retiring last year and prior to that worked at Marshall's Body Shop.

He was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the South End Tavern Bowling League, Polish American Club Bowling League, South End Tavern Golf League at Frear Park and the Times Union Golf League.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, John Martin (Jennifer) O'Brien of Schodack; a daughter, Dawn Marie (Matthew) Helm of Niskayuna; also was father of William and Marceline; a brother, James (Helen) DeLaMater of Waterford; five grandchildren, Miranda, Deanna and Marcus Helm and Kayla and Alexis O'Brien and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Richard (Sonny) DeLaMater, Elizabeth Murphy, Ursula McMeel and Edward and John O'Brien.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of William O'Brien to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
