Willard T. Winters, 81

Troy - Willard T. Winters, 81, of Maple Avenue died Friday, June 25, 2010 on he and his wife's 61stwedding anniversary, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Thurman Winters and Anna Mae Jackson Winters and husband of the late Helga M. Kramer Winters who died in February. He had resided in the Troy area and St. Petersburgh, FL all his life.

Mr. Winters was a parts handler for International Harvester in Menands and Caterpillar Tractor in Colonie for many years.

He was a staff sergeant in the Air Force on the 317th Troop Carrier Group in the Pacific and European Theatres during World War II. He served in the Occupation of Japan and the Berlin Airlift.

Survivors include his children, Linda M. (Richard) Milos of Troy, Roy V. (Irina) Winters of Seminole , FL, Sandee A.M. (Daniel) Wilson of Wynantskill and Heide K. (Michael) Carrier of Wynantskill; a brother, Robert O. (Julie) Winters, Lincoln, CA; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer and David Keevern II, Katherine Milos, Daniel and Darcy Wilson Jr., Timothy and Jeremee Wilson and Brier and Evan Carrier; his great grandson and the light of his life, Sawyer Wilson; an aunt, Evelyn Jackson Berry of East Greenbush and was honorary big brother to Sharon (Larry) Mainville Beaudoin and their family. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary L. Winters and a sister, Beverly Ploughman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service which will be held Monday at 1PM at the Elmwood Hill Cemetery Belle Avenue, Troy.

A special thank you to his neighbors, Jude and Jeff Poland and their wonderful daughters, Allison and Casey, he will be sending you hugs from heaven and June Casey and Bell, Paula Heyden and Joe, John and Meg Brown and sons Jack, Owen and Adam, who always livened the house up.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Ram Agrawal for all his love, care and concern over the years, Dr. Robert Campbell, who gave us three extra years with dad. To Trisha O'Donnell RN of Seton Home Care for all your kindness and to the Troy Fire and EMS for your professionalism. To the staff of St. Mary's Hospital, we thank you for the loving care and respect shown to our dad during his stays and especially to Nancy Zipprich on 5 south, even though he was there for a brief time on Friday you truly helped us through the most difficult time.
