Wesley H. Zindle, 78

West Sand Lake - Wesley H. Zindle, 78, of Shaver Road died Saturday, November 23, 2013, after a long fight with cancer at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Port Jervis, NY, he was son of the late Harold Zindle and Lana LeGier Zindle and husband for 44 years of Lenita Beagle (Delaney) Zindle. He had resided in West Sand Lake since 1973 and previously in Binghamton.

Mr. Zindle was employed as a chemical operator at Sterling WInthrop in Rensselaer retiring in the late 1990's. After his retirement, he was a security guard for Securitas stationed at the Met Life building in North Greenbush.

He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in West Sand Lake. He enjoyed freelance writing, football and spending time with his family. Wes was a Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Lisa (Delaney) Schenmeyer, Jeffrey A. (Jessica) Zindle and Sandra L. (Chris) Eberline; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Nicole, William Jr., Jessica and Heatherlyn; 6 great grandchildren; his siblings, Frank (Beverly) Zindle, Kenneth Zindle, Edward (Laura) Zindle Louis Zindle and Elizabeth Frey; 9 brothers and sisters-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lana Zindle.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route150 West Sand Lake on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10AM at Salem United Methodist Church Shaver Road West Sand Lake with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
