Victoria 'Rose' Partamian Shinorokian, 88

North Greenbush - Victoria 'Rose' Partamian Shinorokian, 88,of Hampton Place, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Syria, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Makrouhie Partamian, also daughter of the late Victoria Partamian and wife of the late George Shinorokian.

She came to the United States in 1920, at the age of 11 months, through Ellis Island and resided most of her life in Troy.

Rose was a clerk for Commodore Cleaners in Troy for many years, retiring in 1962. Prior to that she worked at Cluett, Peabody & Company, Quality Food Market and the Up-To-Date Shop.

After her retirement, she pursued her passion for sewing, doing work making slipcovers and draperies for many people.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Shinorokian of North Greenbush; a brother, Charles Partamian of CA and a sister, Lucy Kurkjian of CA. She was predeceased by a brother, Leon Partamian.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Tony Green, chaplain of The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service.

Interment Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Shinorokian to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
