Brunswick - Todd A. 'Skip' Cargill, 86, of Mark Street died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Todd A. Cargill and Helen Litchfield Cargill and husband for 63 years of Joan P. Post Cargill. He was raised in Albany and resided for 51 years in Brunswick and was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy.
Skip was a truck driver for Joseph Hall Trucking in Albany delivering to A&P stores for 25 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local 294 and life member of the Watervliet VFW Post 729. Skip was a Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Sitkoh Bay (CVE-86) and the USS Tripoli (CVE-64) carriers.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include a niece, Jill (Emmett) Cummings, Albany and 2 nephews, Michael M. Chamberlain, Schenectady and Brian (Lora) Chamberlain, Albany; his cousins, Thomas Viuf, Tulsa, OK and Karen Burton, Jacksonville, FL; and several grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline C. Charlton
All services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
