Thomas R. Valentine, 72

Wynantskill-Thomas R. Valentine, 72,of Elm Court died Friday, October 21, 2005 at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harvey Valentine and Ann (Quell) Valentine and husband of the late Marie A. Janis Valentine.

He had resided in Watervliet and Troy as a child, briefly in Cohoes and in North Greenbush since 1963 and was educated at LaSalle Institute in Troy and attended Siena College.

Mr. Valentine was employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker for 50 years for several area builders, the last 25 years of which he worked for Interstate Laminates in Poestenkill, retiring this year.

He was a member of American Legion in Wynantskill and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. He was a Sea Bee in the US Navy during the Korean War stationed in the Philippines.

He is survived by two sons, Edward T. Valentine (Mary Anne) of Brunswick and Anthony T. Valentine of Wynantskill; a daughter, Deborah M. Schachtel (John) of Nutley, NJ; a brother, Harvey Valentine of Troy; a sister, Joan Pullen LeClair of Troy; three grandchildren, Lauren, Zachary and Ryan Valentine and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Barker.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5- 8 PM. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford.
