Troy - Thomas F. Lloyd 88, of Burdett Avenue died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was son of the late William and Myrtle (Bradley) Lloyd and husband of Marie C.(Petersen) Lloyd.
Tom spent most of his life in Queens. The family began vacationing in East Marion in 1963 and so enjoyed the community that after retiring he moved to Southold, and spent only the last year in Troy.
He worked for many years as a Foreman for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. Tom was a World War II veteran.
He was a member of the First Universalist Church of Southold, the Southold Historical Society, and volunteered for many years at Kingswood Campsite in Hancock, NY, where he was undisputed master of the waterline. Thomas was an avid bird watcher, but more than anything loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 66 years, include a daughter, Naomi (William Feldhusen) Lloyd, their 2 sons William and Randall Feldhusen of West Sand Lake, and a sister, Adelaide Menke of Rochester. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Lloyd of Southold.
A memorial service will be held at the First Universalist Church of Southold in the spring.
