Thomas J. Grogan, 71

Troy-Thomas J. Grogan, 71,of Foxford Road Troy, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Thomas Grogan and Mary (Roach) Grogan and husband for 33 years of Adelaide Snyder Grogan.

He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of St Joseph's School in Troy, Catholic Central High School class of 1952 and earned his Bachelor degree from Siena College in 1964.

Mr. Grogan was a Confidential Classification and Pay Analyst for the New York State Department of Civil Service for 26 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a was a four year Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Thomas P. Grogan (Amy) of Pittstown; a granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Grogan; two sisters, Kathleen Grogan of Troy and Aileen Rourke of Albany and a niece, nephew, aunt and several cousins.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Mercure, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment St. Jean's Cemetery, in Troy.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor, especially C-2, for their compassionate care given to Tom during his stay there.
