Theodore L. Fischetti, 89

Troy Theodore L. Fischetti, 89,of Pawling Avenue, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Bernard Fischetti and Mary (Rich) Fischetti and husband for 61 years of Helen Custo Fischetti.

He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Fischetti was a welder for Howe Brothers in Center Brunswick and later worked for the Rensselaer County Highway Department and more recently in security at Emma Willard School.

He was an active member of the Emerald Athletic Club in Troy and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy. He was an avid NY Yankee's fan. As a Marine Corp veteran in World War II, he was awarded a Purple Heart being the first soldier wounded at Guadalcanal.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Mary Kay Blake (Robert) of East Greenbush; a son, Bernie Fischetti of Troy; a sister, Catherine DeMeo (James) of Troy; five grandchildren, Laura Empie (Robert), Robert Blake (Linda), Anthony Fischetti, Tara Polmateer (Adam) and Kimberly Blake; four great grandchildren, Megan and Jack Empie and Alex and Timothy Blake; a niece, Bernadine Terpening and two nephews, Peter Fischetti and James DeMeo. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter P. Fischetti.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy. There will be no calling hours. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Fischetti to the charity of ones choice.
