Thelma Mohl Miller, 83

Wynantskill Thelma Mohl Miller, 83, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital Troy.

Born, December 17, 1919, in Eagle Mills, she was daughter of the late Clayton E. and Grace Latterick Mohl and wife for 57 years of Darwin O. Miller.

Mrs. Miller grew up on a small family farm in Poestenkill and was educated in Poestenkill schools and was a graduate of Troy High School. She worked at Wm. H. Frear Inc. in Troy as a clerk and buyer for the store, after graduation. She married her husband, Darwin, in January of 1946, upon his return from service overseas in the Army Air Corp, during World War II. Mrs. Miller retired from Frears after the birth of her son and became a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was very devoted to her family and close friends.

Mrs. Miller was an active member of the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church where she previously taught Sunday school and was active in the women's organizations of the church. She loved knitting, crochet, sewing, gardening, baking and canning.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her son, Robert D. Miller and wife Melissa of Wynantskill; her daughter, Lori C. Lape and husband John of West Sand Lake; her grandchildren, Nicole M. and Rebecca L. Lape; a brother, Ralph C. Mohl and wife Elizabeth of Troy; two sisters, Gladys Berry of North Greenbush and Alice F. Mohl of Wynantskill and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Stephen L. Cordes, Pastor of the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in East Schodack.
