Susan Elizabeth McNaney Curtis, 53

Averill Park - Susan Elizabeth Curtis, 53, of Sunset Road died Friday, July 10, 2009, at St. Peter's Hospital Albany after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Seneca Falls, NY, she was daughter of Robert E. McNaney and Doris Paetzold McNaney and wife for 34 years of John M. Curtis. She was raised and resided in West Sand Lake and Averill Park for most of her life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School and attended SUNY at Cobleskill.

Sue was employed most recently as the Health Benefits Administrator for the Averill Park School District, and formerly was secretary to the principal at Poestenkill Elementary School and Sub Coordinator for the district.

She was a member of the Alley Katz Bowling League at Hi-Way Recreation in Wynantskill, B.B.C. Quilters Club, a Girl Scout troop leader, Recording Clerk for the Averill Park School Board and active in school activities for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting and decorating cakes for all occasions in addition to spending time with her family and playing with her grandkids.

Survivors in addition to her husband and parents include her children, Juli Ann (Ethan Bach) Curtis of Santa Fe, NM, Sean Michael Curtis of Averill Park, Kelli Elizabeth (Chad Bush) Curtis of Menands and Nicole Eileen Curtis of Averill Park; her grandchildren, Alexander Daniel Curtis and Christopher William and Jonathan Richard Bush; three sisters, Cheryl (Daniel) Driggs of Castleton, Catherine (David) Middleton of Averill Park and Stephanie Kehn of Averill Park; a brother-in-law, James Curtis (Anna) Corinth of Corinth; a sister-in-law, Eileen (James) Wait of Averill Park and several nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Eileen Anna Curtis and a brother-in-law, Michael Kehn.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the St. Henry's Church Old Route 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Provost, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Monday from 4-8 PM.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Susan Elizabeth Curtis to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
