Stella Jean Staples, 91

North Greenbush Stella Jean Staples, 91, died Monday October 20, 2003, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Exeter, PA, on June 23rd 1912, she was daughter of the late Henry and Ellen Gill Phillips. She had resided in Pennsylvania until 1953 when she relocated to Troy.

Mrs. Staples was employed at Van Rensselaer Manor, Samaritan Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital as a CNA and retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1979.

She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Troy and a member of its Altar Rosary Society and the Perpetual Adoration Society for 30 years.

She was predeceased by her husband William Leon Staples in February of 1966 and many brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Staples was the loving mother of Patricia Heath Schisler (Laslo) of Rotterdam, Elizabeth Armstrong Hart (Raymond) of West Sand Lake and William Frederick Staples of Garland, TX; dear sisters, Rose Coons of Troy and Ann Meehan of Levittown, PA; 15 grandchildren, Thomas Heath (Joyce), William Heath, Robert Heath, Catherine Heath Millen and the late William Millen, Patricia Heath, Michael Heath, Donna Heath Enos, James Heath (Tina), Elizabeth Armstrong Wall (Thomas), Lynda Armstrong Caccamo (John), Laurie Fazioli, George Armstrong III (Alyson), Patricia Staples Bean (Gary), Jeanne Staples and William Staples Jr. (Kyra); 5 step grandchildren, Daniel Hart (Sherry), James Hart (Patty), Ronald Hart, Susan Davis (Ray) and Raymond Hart Jr.; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy and at 9:30am from St. Paul the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
