Clifton Park - Stanley J. Mankowski, 56,of Coventry Drive died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a brief illness.
Born in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Stanley Mankowski and Mae (Manning) Mankowski and husband of Karen A.(LeFevre) Mankowski.
He was raised in the Bronx and resided there until moving to Clifton Park in 1995 and was educated at St. Helena's High School in the Bronx and John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.
Mr. Mankowski was employed at the Department of Criminal Justice Service in Albany as a consultant for the past 5 years and a former Sergeant in the NYC Police Department, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Retired Police Association, GRUMPS, Pulaski Association and Clifton Park Lodge of Elks. He loved to travel especially to Las Vegas, was a sports fan especially the Yankees and Giants and enjoyed golf.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his sister, Debra (Steve) Potter of Westchester County; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Dawn (Ragone) LeFevre of Troy; brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Kathy and Chris Bell, Kim and Dave McHale, Ray and Jean LeFevre and Ken and MaryLou LeFevre; nieces and nephews, Danny, Meagan and Morgan McHale, Matthew and Ashley Bell, Catie LeFevre and Jenna and Ryan LeFevre and his two puppies, Abby and Libby.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 10:30 AM at St. William's Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by with Rev. Robert LeFevre.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
Interment St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
