Shirley R. Forman Tilley, 71

Troy Shirley R. Forman Tilley, 71, of Woodlawn Court, died Friday at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Edwin and Myrtle Pollock Forman and wife for 52 years of Raymond E. Tilley. She had resided all her life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1949 and Austin Beauty School in Albany.

Mrs. Tilley was employed in the dietary department of Samaritan Hospital in Troy for 17 years, retiring in 1993. Prior to that she was a cosmetologist for14 years for The Jo Ann Shoppe in Wynantskill, many years ago.

She was an active, lifelong member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy. She was a member of United Methodist Women, the church choir, a youth fellowship leader and co-lay leader.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters Deborah F. Bryce (Robert) of Averill Park and Beverly I. Kelly of Troy; two sons Robert R. Tilley of Troy (Carol A. of Melrose) and Rick Tilley (Bonnie L.) of Troy; a sister Helen Henry of Torrence, CA; two brothers Earl Forman (Jean) of Torrence, CA and Arthur Forman (Barbara) of Eagle Mills; 11 grandchildren Bonnie E. Tilley, Beckie E. Briggs, Gregory R. and Brenda M. Tilley, Lorin Levins, Scott Bryce, Michelle, Therese and Megan Kelly, Aaron E. and Rebecca Tilley; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, Marilyn Spiers of Troy.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00AM from Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church 520 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Peter Kelly, Pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9PM. Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
