Shirley C. (Collins) Rescott

West Sand Lake - Shirley Collins Rescott, 80, of Route 150 died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Merritt Collins and Mildred Church Collins and beloved wife of Eugene P.  Rescott. She had resided in Poestenkill and Albany before moving to West Sand Lake in 1954 and was a 1952 graduate of Averill Park High School and 1957 graduate of Albany Business College. 

Shirley was a branch manager for Fleet Bank in Nassau for almost 20 years, retiring in 1991

She was a charter member of the Sand Lake Historical Society and enjoyed genealogy, gardening and antiquing.    

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Nancy A. (Michael) Mason, Mechanicville and Jill S. Rescott, Gypsum, CO; a son, Theodore J. Rescott, West Sand Lake; four grandchildren, Samuel J. and Shawna C. Mason and Jeremy E. and Slater Sabo; a brother, Merritt (Janice) Collins, Nassau; a sister, Lorraine (Thomas) Mastromarchi, Albany and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  4392 Route150 West Sand Lake on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 1-3 PM with a service to follow at 3PM with Rev. Joseph Auslander, officiating.

Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery Brunswick at a later date.
