Shirley J. (Murphy) O'Donnell

Troy - Shirley J. Murphy O'Donnell, 83, of Ford Avenue died, after a brief illness, Monday, June 19, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Harry Murphy and Aurora Lagace Murphy and wife for 63 years of Arthur F.  O'Donnell. She was raised in Lanisingburgh and resided on the East Side of Troy for the past 22 years and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1952. 

Shirley was a homemaker.  She was a member of the East Side Seniors and its bocce league, Troy Seniors and enjoyed ceramics, traveling and senior bus trips.  Shirley was truly dedicated to her home and family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She took great pride in all their accomplishments.  

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, David W. O'Donnell, Wynantskill; a daughter, Debra (Jack) Pelletier, Troy; three grandchildren, Justin (Carmen) Pelletier, Arlington, VA, Coty (Cat) Pelletier, Mechanicville, VA and Valarie (Cassius) Pelletier, Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and William Murphy.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Wojton, officiating.

Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
