Shirley Ann Gentner, 80

Poestenkill - Shirley Ann Gentner, 80, of Blue Factory Road passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Valley Falls, she was daughter of the late Everett Jacob Lohnes and Emma Coonradt Lohnes Baldwin, stepdaughter of John Truman Baldwin and beloved wife of the late Frederick Gentner. She was raised in Valley Falls, resided in Melrose and on the Vanderheyden Hall Farm and in East Poestenkill since 1947and attended Troy High School.

Shirley was homemaker and a member of the Poestenkill Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Gentner of Poestenkill, Ronald (Roberta 'Bert) Gentner of Poestenkill and Michael Gentner of South Carolina; a daughter June E. (Bill) Aiken of Altoona, PA; two sisters, Ruth Winters of Massachusetts and Retta Leibersperger of Hoosick Falls; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Marie Scott; three brothers, Donald, Paul and Kenneth Lohnes and three sisters, Mary Day, Eleanor Shaw and Betty Leibersperger.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Shawn Chamberlain, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 PM.

Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery Barberville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Shirley Gentner to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
