Shirley A. Teal Christensen, 76

Lansingburgh - Shirley A. Teal Christensen, 76, of Sixth Avenue died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Marshall H. Teal and Ethel Dunham Teal and wife of the late Donald H. Christensen. She had resided all her life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Shirley was a dental assistant for Dr. Bennett Lax DDS in Green Island for 17 years retiring in 2002.

She was President of the Lansingburgh Little League Auxiliary, an officer for Connie Mack Baseball, a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, taught Sunday school at the church for 16 years and was a founding member and secretary in 1973 of the Booster Club at Lansingburgh High School .

Survivors include two sons, Donald M. Christensen and Mark D. Christensen both of Lansingburgh; a brother, Howard M. (Gail) Teal of Brunswick; four grandsons, Corey M. Christensen and Adam J. Christensen both of Troy and Logan M and Hunter M Christensen both of Cohoes; three nieces, Beth, Erin and Rhonda and a lifelong friend, Jean Blair of Lansingburgh.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 8PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Michael Gorchov, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8PM

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
