Myrtle Beach, SC - Shawn Malone, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, December 9, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harriet Morton and William F. Malone. Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Catherine "Kitty" Malone; and his very special furry companion, Sassie, who never left his side.

Shawn graduated from LaSalle Institute, Troy, and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He owned and operated Malone's Refuse Removal in Troy with his brother Tim, which was started by their father Bud. Shawn was a former Chairman of the Planning Board for the Town of Brunswick and a former member of the Country Club of Troy.

After retirement, Shawn and Kitty, and Sassie, relocated to Murrells Inlet, where he worked at the Heritage Club of Pawleys Island and continued to play golf. In addition to his wife, Shawn is survived by his brother, Tim Malone (Mary Ann) of Clifton Park, N.Y.; sister, Tammy Malone of Summerville; many in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Pat Malone of Lubbock, Texas.

Relatives and friends may call at Our Lady of Victory Church 55 North Lake Avenue Troy on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM and at 10:30 AM a Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.
