Welcome to the memorial page for

Sean Marc Breneman

October 10, 1984 ~ January 18, 2018 (age 33) 33 Years Old

Troy- Sean Marc Breneman of Troy, NY passed away unexpectedly from a respiratory illness on January 18, 2018 at the age of 33.  Sean was born prematurely in Goleta, California on October 10, 1984 and immediately faced his first challenge: significant neonatal surgery.  He showed us then the amazing personal resilience, strength and courage that he was to call upon to overcome the many health and developmental obstacles he faced during his life.  Sean’s early life was spent living in a number of locations, including Santa Barbara, England (Windsor, Bradford, York), Saint Louis, California’s San Fernando Valley, Philadelphia (Narberth), Martha’s Vineyard and Troy, NY.  Although quiet by nature, it was always a joy to tease out and share stories of all the places he visited and people he met.  Sean was an integral part of his English family and although he had not lived there for many years, was fondly and lovingly remembered by each and every one of them.  Stories of Sean are related at every family event in England and will continue to do so.  Sean was most happy during his trips to Camp Fowler in Speculator, NY, and would often recount the great memories that were made there.  After working in the retail industry, Sean was encouraged and mentored by Dr. Scott Bello at his pediatric practice and then found his professional calling at Capital Care Pediatrics in Troy, where he took great pride in his work as a specialist in electronic medical records and in medical assisting.  Sean worked there for seven years until his passing.   Sean earned his degree in Medical Assisting at Bryant & Stratton in Albany, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with 4.0 GPA. It is impossible to think of Sean without acknowledging his passion for music, which reflected his early years of living in many different places.  There can be few more eclectic and thoughtful music collections that reflect the owner quite so much as the one Sean put together.  Although often perceived as introspective, Sean would laugh until tears rolled down his cheeks.  A remembrance of past tales, an inadvertent or inappropriate comment or joke would have him incapable of speaking.  We will all miss him deeply and forever.

Sean is survived by his parents, Ingela A-M Welbrock and Curt M. Breneman, his half-brother Nick Welbrock, and his step-parents, Mimsy Pye and Pete Welbrock and many aunts, uncles and cousins both in the U.S. and the U.K.
