Sarkis Khanjian, 87

Loudonville - Sarkis Khanjian, 87, of Campus View died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Northeast Center for Special Care in Lake Katrine, NY after a long illness.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he was son of the late Garabed Khanjian and Eygul Gureghian Khanjian and husband of the late Alice Heybelian Khanjian and Oshean Gozeubeukian Khanjian. He came to the United States to Boston in 1975 and to the Albany area in 1989.

Mr. Khanjian was an assembler at the Accent Lamp Factory in Massachusetts and formerly was owner of a sandwich shop in Lebanon .

He was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Hagop (Ani) Khanjian of Boston, MA, Heidi (Sarkis) Guleserian of Loudonville, Zovig (Levon) Kayserian of Boston, MA and Maral Khanjian of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 6 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Enza Khatcherian, Takouhie Akoghlanian, Sima Hekimian and Hayganoush Khanjian.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church 100 Troy-Schenectady Road Watervliet.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Sunday from 4-6.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
