Sarah L. (Laurenzo) Borgese

Troy - Sarah L. Borgese, 94, of Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the home after a long  illness.

Sarah was born and raised in Mechanicville, and was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph Laurenzo and Carolina Castalda Laurenzo.  She was the wife of the late George Gray, Daniel Capen and Vincent Borgese.  She lived in Pullman, Washington, Watervliet, West Sand Lake, Rotterdam, Albany, and Delray Beach, FL.

Sarah was a secretary for the New York State Law Department in Albany for 20 years, retiring in 1981.  Many years ago, she also worked in retail including Montgomery Wards and in the 40's at the Watervliet Arsenal.

She was a member of the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park.    

Survivors include her children, Val Gray, East Nassau, Carol A. (David Dedrick) Stacy, East Greenbush and Russell (Leigh Ann) Gray, Monroe, CT; her grandchildren, Danielle Stacy and Maxwell and Samuel Gray; her siblings, Abraham Laurenzo, Edith Hathaway and Mary Capuano; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Church of the Covenant 3055 Route 43 Averill Park on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1-2PM with a memorial service at 2PM with Rev. Joseph Auslander, Pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Sarah L. Borgese to the Church of the Covenant Box 306 Averill Park, NY 12018 .
