Sara A. Turnage Lawyer, 90

Upper Marlboro, Maryland - Sara A. Turnage Lawyer, 90, of S Osborne Road died Saturday February 05, 2011, at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD after a brief three week illness.

Born in Kinston, NC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Turnage and Leona Perry Turnage and the wife of the late John F. Lawyer. She had resided in Albany and Upper Marlboro, MD and was a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Lawyer was employed at Albany County Schools as a special education teacher for 22 years retiring in 1991. She was a deacon at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, NY.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Boone of Ann Arbor, MI; Roger Lawyer, Oak Park, MI; Linda Stephens, Milwaukee, WI; Gary Lawyer, Moreno Valley, CA and Kevin Lawyer of Upper Marlboro, MD; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Macedonia Baptist Church 172 North Allen Street Albany with Rev. Leonard Comithier Jr., Pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9-11AM prior to the service Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery Albany.
