Sandra J. (Viale) Pettinger

North Greenbush and Bradenton, FL - Sandra J. Viale Pettinger, 74, of Eastwyck Circle and formerly of  River Isles Bradenton, FL passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, at her residence after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Poultney, VT, she was daughter of the late Ralph Viale and Dorothy Chambers Viale and wife for 55 years of John W.  Pettinger. She had resided in Speigletown for 35 years and in Florida for 20 years and was a 1957 graduate of Troy High School. 

Sandy was employed as a teller for Marine Midland Bank in Troy, an auditor for St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy and a homemaker.  

She was a member, Elder and an adviser with her husband of the Senior Youth Group of First United Presbyterian Church of Troy. Sandy enjoyed gardening and was an aerobics instructor for many years.    

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Deborah H. Safford, Valley Falls; three sons, Mark S. Pettinger, Schenectady and Scott W. (Mary) Pettinger, Troy and Craig J. (Tianna) Pettinger, East Greenbush and six grandchildren, Melissa and Krista Safford, Taylor and Ryan Pettinger and Marianna and Ellieanna Pettinger. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Wednesday at 2PM at the Gardner Earl Chapel 186 Oakwood Avenue Troy with Rev. Gusti Linnea Newquist, officiating.

Inurnment will be in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Sandra Pettinger to the charity of ones choice.
