Rensselaer - Samuel P. Ciraulo, Sr., 80, of St. Anthony Lane entered into eternal life Sunday, August 7, 2016, at his residence after a brief illness.
Born in Johnstown, PA, he was son of the late Philip Ciraulo, Sr. and Christine Battaglia Ciraulo and beloved husband of Rebecca J. Glogowski Ciraulo for 61years. Sam and his family moved from Pennsylvania at a young age and he has resided in the Troy area all his life. He was educated in Troy schools.
Sam was a code enforcement officer for the City of Troy for 25 years retiring in 1991. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Navy Reserve in 1962. He was a past president of CSEA. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and softball, listening to country music and watching John Wayne movies. He loved spending time with his family and was, as his children lovingly called him "the best father ever."
Survivors, in addition to his wife Becky, include his 4 children, Samuel (Loretta) Ciraulo, Troy; Carrie Lewis, Watervliet; Gregory A. Ciraulo, Colonie; and Becky (Nicolas) Cavallo, Brunswick; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; his siblings, Marie Moulton, MD; Vincent Ciraulo, Troy; and Louise (John) Leonard, Troy; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandson, Jason A. Lewis; and his brother, Philip Ciraulo, Jr.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 4 - 7PM.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home and 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating. Immediately following the Mass, a brief prayer service will be held and military honors rendered at Gardner Earl Crematory Chapel, at Oakwood Cemetery.
