Troy - Salvatore P. Clemente 77, of Blooming Grove Drive died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Michael and Jenny (Zirpolo) Clemente and husband of Grace E.(Carello) Clemente.

Salvatore was a graduate of Troy schools and formerly lived on Hudson Drive in Brunswick. He was employed in construction for 18 years retiring in 1977 and was a member of Local 190, Troy Construction Workers and Laborers Union. He was an army veteran of the Korean war and a member of the American Legion Post in Wynantskill.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters Patricia A. ( Pat) Mulcahy of Wynantskill and Donna M.(Eric VanZandt) Clemente of Troy, his son Michael R.(Darlene) Clemente of Waterford; 6 grandchildren Nicole M. (Michael) Gee, Seann P. Mulcahy, Bryan J. (Kimberly) Miller, Michael R. Clemente, Jr., Tara K. Mulcahy, Megan M. Clemente; 2 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Miller and McKenzie Gee; brothers, John and Anthony Clemente; and sister Florence Tambolleo; several nieces and nephews; and beloved brother-in-law of Theresa Agars. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Gorman and Ursula Klein and brothers Nicholas, Rocco, Michael, and Felix Clemente.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 10:30 AM from Sacred Heart Church in Troy with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 4-7 PM

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville, N.Y.

Contributions may be made in memory of Salvatore Clemente to the Alliance for Homebound People 16 Crimson Oak Court Schenectady, N.Y. 12309.
