Ruth Kathryn 'Kay' Russell , 82

North Greenbush Ruth Kathryn 'Kay' Russell , 82 ,of Nancy Drive, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Michael Kilburn and Lena (Marks) Kilburn and wife of the late John Russell.

She had resided in Troy and North Greenbush all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Russell was employed at Cluett, Peabody and Co. in Troy, at New York State and later was a teachers aid at School 14, Carroll Hill and Doyle Middle School for several years.

She was a 53 year member of the former Woodside Presbyterian Church in Troy and a Deacon of the church. A member of the Wynantskill and Poestenkill Senior Citizens and for many years volunteered, with her husband, with the Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her loving children, John K. Russell (Geri) of Lake Parsippany, NJ and Cynthia R. Russell and Daniel K. Russell both of North Greenbush; a loving sister, Dorothy Rice of Rotterdam; three grandchildren, Kate, Megan and Rebecca Russell; her devoted companion Yorkshire Terrier, 'Jack' Russell and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and sisters, Helen McKenna and twins Augustus Kilburn and Alma Kilburn.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Alfred Siegel and Rev. James Thompson, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8pm. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
