Ruth M. Drexler Lesson, 74

AVERILL PARK - Ruth M. Drexler Lesson, 74, of Port Orange, FL, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2003, while in the care of her family in Averill Park.

Born in Troy, July 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Phillapina Keilbach Drexler. She attended St. Augustine School and Catholic Central High School, both of Lansingburgh. Ruth was the devoted wife of Gordon D. Lesson, until his death, September 2,1996.

She resided as a wife, mother and home maker in Poestenkill for many years. She was employed as a telephone operator for New York Telephone, until her retirement in 1989. After retirement, Ruth enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending summers in New York. She loved her pet dogs, flowers, the sea and its creatures, crafts, crocheting, and fun times with friends and family.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy and his wife Judy of Tucson, AZ, David and his wife Donna of Averill Park, NY, Daniel and his wife Karen of Brunswick, NY, one sister, Lorraine Newland of Florida. She was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Paul of Johnsonville, and Diane Danaher of Schaghticoke, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chad Lesson

of Tucson, AZ, Corey and Brett Lesson of Averill Park, Sandra Eyerman of Averill Park, and Adam, Courtney, Aubree and Benjamin Lesson of Brunswick.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 9:30am from St. Henry's Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Interment St. John's Cemetery in North Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Lesson to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144.
