Ruby Venita Downey Hansen, 86

Troy Ruby Venita Downey Hansen, 86,of Vista Avenue Troy, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Barbados, West Indies, she was the daughter of the late James Downey and Rosalind (Charge) Downey and wife of the late Gordon Gatley Brace and Frank Hansen.

She had resided in Barbados until 1978, then North Port, Florida and in1984 came to Troy. She was educated in Barbados.

Mrs. Hansen was a homemaker and mother and worked in sales prior to her marriage.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony Shrine Church in Troy.

Survivors include five daughters, M. Patricia Hacking of Vancouver, BC, Angela E. Gough of Nova Scotia, Phyllis Monica DiBon of Ontario, Linda I. Begley of Troy and Theresa Ann Abed of Troy; four sons, Gordon A. Brace of Barbados, Michael J. Brace of Ontario, Canada, William Trevor Brace of Barbados and David Andrew Brace of Troy; four sisters, Doris Goodman of Barbados, Lorna Marshall of Barbados, Daphne Dickenson of Barbados and Pauline Goodridge of Barbados; two brothers, Ralph Downey of Barbados and Colin Downey of Ontario; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Ernest Richard Brace; three brothers, William, George and Charles Downey and three sisters, Elaine Ferry, Coral Jones and Molly Goodman.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. Anthony Shrine Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 6-9 PM.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
