Ronald J. Bidwell, 62

Brunswick Ronald J. Bidwell, 62, of Meadowview Drive, passed into God's hands on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Stanley C. and Mary E. Jones Bidwell and loving husband for 42 ½ years of Donna R. Snyder Bidwell. He was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Bidwell was a routeman for Freihofer Baking Company for 5 years prior to his employment as a machine operator for 33 years at Behr-Manning, later Norton Company and retiring from Nashua Corp. in 1996. Upon his retirement, he worked part-time at Roma Foods.

He enjoyed little projects around the house, taking his dog for rides in his truck and collecting the new state quarters as they came out. Ron loved Christmas and children. He played Santa Claus for 23 years. Santa Claus may have passed away, but his memories live on forever.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sons, David J. Bidwell (Sharon) of Troy and Scott J. Bidwell (Bridget) of Poestenkill; two daughters, Christine M. Anslow (William) of Troy and Cynthia M. Paff (Thomas) of Watervliet; his grandchildren, Selena, William Jr and CJ Anslow, David and Kayla Bidwell and Thomas, Michael, Carissa and Caitlyn Paff; his dog and best friend, Timber; his father and mother-in-law Doris and George Snyder of Troy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mark and Patricia Snyder of Wynantskill and Marilou and Jeff Dunn of Seminole, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predecesed by a sister Betty Ann Maxfield.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00AM from Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy with Rev. David J. Jones MM, cousin of Ron's, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8pm. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
