Watervliet - Ronald Robert Bennett Sr., 69, of Second Ave Watervliet died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Watervliet, he was son of the late Rollen T. Bennett and Dorothy Brown Bennett and husband for 45 years of Carol Ann VanVorst Bennett. He had resided in Watervliet and Troy areas all his life and attended Watervliet Schools.

Mr. Bennett was employed in maintenance at numerous locations including Riverview Gardens Apartments, The College of St. Rose and Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Linda (Tarry) Marsh Sr., Waterford, Ronald R. Bennett Jr., Waterford, Cheryl (Brett) Dean, North Greenbush and Colleen (Amy Coonan) Stevenson, Troy; his siblings, Carol Lemons, Kay Childs, Richard Bennett, Joan Stiles, Sandy George and his twin brother Roland Bennett; his grandchildren, Ashley Marsh, Tarry Marsh Jr., Shannon and Andrea Bennett, Rieley and Mackenzie Stevenson and Collins Dean; his great grandchildren, Ailey Treacy and Izick Bennett and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Diane Dugan and Helen Storms ; two brothers, Gary and Lee Bennett and two half sisters and a half brother.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7 PM with a funeral service at 7 PM with Rev. James J. Vaughan, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery Watervliet on Tuesday at 11AM.
