Robert J. 'The Bear' Sheehan Jr., 65

Troy - Robert J. 'The Bear' Sheehan Jr., 65, of Troy died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Robert J. Sheehan Sr. and Bertha M. Ciejka Sheehan and husband for 37 years of Kathryn Knothe Sheehan. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1964 and earned his Bachelor's degree from Siena College in 1991

Bob was a self employed accountant operating RJS Accounting for 13 years with many clients including Rensselaer County Historical Society, Museum Association of New York, Precision Glass & Aluminum Inc and the Ettinger Law Firm.

Bob was a member of the Capital District Civil War Roundtable and active in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. He was an avid softball player for many years with the Wilcox Wildcats and also a golfer with the South End Tavern League.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter, Carolyn (Corey) Ausfeld , Niskayuna, his son, Jonathan (Ariana) Sheehan, West Milford, NJ; his grandchildren, Kendall and Charlotte Ausfeld; his brother, Thomas P (Kelly) Sheehan, Latham; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, August 3 from 4-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Robert J.
