West Sand Lake - Robert J. Scovill, 88, of RT 43 West Sand Lake died Tuesday May 13, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late Wallace G. Scovill and Marie (Kircher) Scovill and beloved husband of Virginia (Taber) Scovill.

He had resided in West Sand Lake all his adult life and was a graduate of Averill Park High School class of 1937 and Troy Business College.

Bob was owner and past president of Colehamer & Fellows, Inc. in Troy for over 50 years, retiring in 1985.

He was a past Chairman of WEWAS, Suppliers Division of National Ground Water Association, longtime Associate member of Empire State Water Well Drillers' Association, a 50+ member of the West Sand Lake Fire Department and past member of West Sand Lake Board of Fire Commissioners. He was also a past member of the Troy Rotary Club, an original member of the Cordial Greens Country Club, a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a past member of its Congregational Council. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatres.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter, Joan S. Mack of West Sand Lake; a brother, Ernest 'Skip' N. (Dorinda) Scovill of Lake Luzerne; a sister, Irene (Joseph) Alleca of Rensselaer; his grandchildren, Robert C. Mack of Long Island, Paige M. (Gregory) Mills of Minoa and Andrew B. Mack of Forest Hills; his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Henry Mills and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 3:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. James A. Hulihan, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Friday from 2-3PM prior to the service.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in West Sand Lake.
