Brunswick - Robert W. Mandeville, 104, of Town Office Road died Monday, December 8, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Sayre, PA, he was son of the late Robert W. Mandeville and Maude (Clarke) Brimmer, stepson of Archie E. Brimmer and husband of the late Irene (Carpenter) Mandeville.

Mr. Mandeville built and lived in his home since March of 1920 on Town Office Road in Center Brunswick and was educated in Troy schools.

He was a self employed truck driver and was employed by RPI as a carpenter for 47 years, retiring in 1973.

Mr. Mandeville started Troop 37 in Center Brunswick many years ago and was it first scoutmaster. He was the oldest, Charter Member of the Center Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company, a life member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church and a member of the Men's Club of the church and a bowler in the Troy Church League for 35 years.

Survivors include his brother, Victor Brimmer of Grafton; his sister, Ella Winter of Menands; his grandsons, David and Stephen Tully of Seattle, WA; his great granddaughter, Jasmyn Tully of Seattle, WA and several niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul R. Mandeville; his daughter, Gladys Tully and a sister, Olive Haber.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Arthur Hagy, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-6pm.

Interment will be in New Mt. Ida Cemetery.
