Robert A. LaMora, 87

Snyders Lake - Robert A. LaMora, 87, of Peck Road died Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Watervliet, he was son of the late Joseph LaMora and Lillian Semple LaMora and beloved husband for 51 years of the late Loraine Fannie Beach LaMora. He had resided at Snyders Lake for over 60 years and attended Watervliet High School.

Mr. LaMora was a machinist for the Watervliet Arsenal and Norton Company for 35 years and worked in construction for many years.

He was a former trustee and member of the Salem United Methodist Church in West Sand Lake, a member of the Wynantskill American Legion, a lifetime bowler, many years at HiWay Recreation and loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. He was a World War II veteran of the Army serving in Hawaii just after the Pearl Harbor invasion.

Survivors include five children, Robert L. (Rose) LaMora, Riviera Beach , FL, Diane (Nancy) LaMora, East Greenbush, David LaMora, West Sand Lake, Ruth Ann (Garry) Brooks, Snyders Lake and Dawn M. LaMora, West Stephentown; 8 grandchildren, Nicole, Mark, Christina, Jason, Brian, Adam, Angela and Autumn; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a beloved dog for 14 years, Dutchess. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph LaMora.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Friday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Miner, Pastor of Snyders Lake Community Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Robert A. LaMora to the American Lung Association 155 Washington Ave Albany, NY 12210.
