Rita D. (Maloney) Tippins

Cohoes - Rita D. Tippins, 99, passed away Friday, March 03, 2017 at the Eddy Village Green.

Born in Troy,  she was daughter of the late John J. Maloney and Magdalena  Hart Maloney and wife of the late John “Jack”  Tippins.  She resided in Wynantskill  for over 60 years until failing health resulted in the necessity to leave her long standing home and moved into the Eddy Terrace in Troy and subsequently to the Eddy Village Green Nursing Home in Cohoes. 

Rita had many jobs over her adult life, most proud was her successful career at the Watervliet Arsenal retiring in 1980.  

Rita enjoyed spending time with  her family, traveling, going to Florida in the cold winter months, her neighborhood card group, and her frequent trips to Macy’s to check out the sales.  

Rita is survived by a son, Timothy Tippins, a grandson Robert (JoAnn), two great grandchildren Cole and Emilia Tippins, her devoted niece Karen Cornwell, and loyal and dedicated friend David Pohl and other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Tippins, her brothers, John J. and Robert M. Maloney and sister, Helen M. Vece. 

A graveside service will be private at the convenience of the family. 

Interment will be in St. Jean's Cemetery Troy.
