Troy - Richard F. ‘Dick’ Zalucky, 70, of Euclid Avenue died Sunday, February 5, 2017, at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Frank J. Zalucky and Mary Mazzola Zalucky and husband for 35 years of the late Catherine White Zalucky who died in 2004. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Tamarac High School.
Dick was employed at Al-Tech Specialty Steel in Watervliet for 26 years and more recently a security officer at Emma Willard School for 27 years.
He was a member of Watervliet Lodge of Elks for over 40 years. Dick was a Sargeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Anne (John) Bub, Cohoes; a son, Chad Michael (Jaime) Zalucky, Colonie; his grandchildren, Paige Catherine Bub and Jared, Madelyn and Emma Zalucky; a sister, Christina Bonesteel, Chicago, IL; three brothers, Robert (Donna) Zalucky, Troy, Thomas (Sue) Zalucky, Sebastian, FL and Jay (Tania) Zalucky, Averill Park and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 4-7 with a service following at 7PM.
Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
